Class Size
I must have a minimum of 5 students per class to offer the semester rate of $140 ($120/additional student from same family). If fewer than 5 students enroll, I will give the enrolled families the option of paying a pro-rated amount: $190 each per semester for three students per class; $150 each per semester for 4 students per class;
Materials
You will need to purchase the Teaching Textbooks edition for whichever class you are taking. You do not need to purchase the CDs unless you want to. These books are available from a variety of sources including Sonlight, Timberdoodle, and CBD. The prices are usually the same, but some sites offer free shipping. I will have a few used textbooks for sale from former students.
I will provide you with printed pages for your math notebook. Please bring $5 for the notebook on the first day of class. You may add it to your tuition check if you would like.
Class Procedures
In each class session, we will cover two or three lessons, go over questions you may have from the homework, and get you started on the next homework assignment. You will take Chapter Tests at home. I will check to see that homework is completed and will grade and keep a record of Test grades. At the end of each semester, I will send home a record of Test grades, completed honors assignments, extra-credit project points, and a final average/grade.
Grading
Homework will be checked at each class session, and a “homework” grade will be given for each semester. This grade is based on diligence in completing assignments, not on getting each and every problem correct. At the end of each semester, one quiz grade may be dropped, and the homework grade substituted in its place.
Schedule

Algebra 2 2:00-3:00 T, Th

Extra Help
If at any time you are having difficulty understanding how to work a problem, please let me know. I don’t want you to be frustrated and discouraged. You may even give me a call between classes. Often we can figure it out together on the phone. If need be, we will set up an extra one-on-one session.
