I teach students who LOVE math as well as those who struggle
a bit. Even strong math students sometimes need a little "flexible accountability." Homework is checked at every class meeting, a semester homework grade is assigned, and tests are assigned and graded at regular intervals. This keeps students moving ahead with the goal of finishing the textbook by mid-May. Flexibility comes in when a student needs to miss some classes for a family trip or due to illness. Extra one-on-one sessions will be scheduled if necessary to help the student catch up.
