As promised, I am touching base with my Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 students. I hope that you are all having a great summer and are not giving too much thought to math.
I have updated the Biographical Information page on my website so that those of you who do not know me can learn a little bit about me and my family. Once the school year begins, I will use the site as a way to communicate important information such as syllabuses, schedules, and extra-credit projects, so you might want to go ahead and bookmark my website. Pay careful attention to the Important Dates on the side bar of the homepage.
It is not too soon to be on the look-out for your textbooks. Once again we will be using the Teaching Textbooks. If you can find a used copy, great! I will work with either the original edition or the 2.0 edition for Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry. Full disclosure: The 2.0 editions have more multiple choice questions, and most students seem to prefer this. There are some links on my website to places where you can order textbooks. You do not need to purchase the CDs unless you just really want to.
Some of you may have had a change in plans as far as math goes for the 2015-2016 school year. If you are no longer interested in enrolling in one of my classes, would you please let me know? My Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 classes are currently full, but I would be happy to add a few Geometry students to my roll, so please spread the word. I have a wait-list for Algebra 1 and Algebra 2.
If you happen to be in the neighborhood this summer, please stop by to meet me or to say hello. That would make my day!
I will be in touch again in early August and give you the final details for our first day of class on August 18. Until then, have a safe and memorable summer.
